Combo = Complete energy efficient hot glass manufacturing plant
It comprised a 20kg pot furnace, a 13” gloryhole and lehr powered by LPG gas and supplemented with an electric heating element in the lehr. The flue from the furnace and the gloryhole was electronically controlled to use the waste heat from the furnace and the gloryhole to heat the lehr or to vent it. In practice the electric element was never used as, even with just the waste flue gas from the furnace, there was more than enough to power the lehr overnight.roll over image
